This Rosado comes from the upper reach of the Alava zone at about 650 feet above sea level. Nestled within the rolling hills of the Basque country, the local red variety (Beltza) gives a beautiful pink color to the wine, and after fermentation with the white grapes, the expression of fruit and terroir really comes out in the bottle. The finished wine has a lovely floral nose of strawberries and white flowers that are followed by a clean and dry palate offering persistence and beautifully fresh acidity. Balanced and pure minerality from the soil give a long aromatic finish.

The Rosé is produced from several parcels that comprise slightly less than 7 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are clay and limestone, situated on a gentle slope with a north – northwest exposure. The blend is Grenache (55%), Mourvedre (31%) and Cinsault (14%). This Rosé is vinified by “pressurage direct, until it is completely dry; then, the wine is bottled during the first three months of the following year after a light filtration. Limited.
$19 CHATEAU SOUCHERIE, LOIRE VALLEY, FRANCE
-might be the best Rose in Rosenthals portfolio.
$18 COMMANDERIE DE PEYRASSOL COTES DE PROVENCE, FRANCE
Made entirely from estate fruit in 2017, “Chateau” is primarily Cinsault, with increasingly smaller amounts of Grenache, Mourvedre, Tibouren, and Syrah. This is a higher-toned, more floral, more filigree wine than its brother above, with subtle herbal notes framing clean, lifted fruit on the nose. Though equally as dense—and perhaps more penetrating due to its more overt mineral character—it is no richer than the “Commanderie,” and it expresses the vintage’s firm tension with elegance.
$20 DOMAINE DE LA PETITE MARIE BOURGUEIL, LOIRE VALLEY, FRANCE
$13 DeMORGENZON, WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA
This crowd pleasing rosé displays alluring aromas and juicy flavors of cherries and strawberry nose, followed by crispy summer fruit salad palate. The pallet is accented with delicate floral and spice nuances. The balance is perfect ending dry and crisp enticing you to take another sip!

"Select vineyards across California provide the perfect fruit for Smoke Tree Rosé. Winemaker Joel Burt looks for micro-climates with warm days, cool nights and minimal diurnal shift to provide fruit with balanced acidity and fresh flavors. He blends younger Grenache vines with older Zinfandel and Carignan from the Mendocino, Lake County, Madera County and Paso Robles subappellations. All Smoke Tree's vineyard partners cultivate their vines sustainably; some are organic" winery notes
