$10 CHATEAU GRIMARD, BORDEAUX ROUGE ‘15
Chateau Grimard is an 8-hectare, three-generation-old family estate located in the commune of Lugon, just outside the Fronsac region on the right bank of Bordeaux. The vineyard lies on a south-east slope, which is ideal for attaining full ripeness. The vines average 33 years of age. They are pruned in the double Guyot method and are trained high to optimize exposure and aeration. Grass is planted between the rows. The fruit is carefully sorted after harvest. The wine is vinified and matured in tanks to ensure that it is fresh, fruity and accessible on release. Chateau Grimard is a classic Bordeaux wine, offering a deep red-purple color, a lush bouquet, and ripe plummy-cassis fruit with soft structure. It has more definition and character than most Bordeaux AOC, due to the ideal location of the property, where the two grape varieties ripen perfectly in the area’s microclimate and terroir.
